Intermediate Level

Students who start Intermediate I has enough linguistic elements so as to retell either present or past situations, as well as to express expectations towards the future. They are able to communicate themselves in daily situations without difficulties. They can read newspaper articles and some pieces of Latinamerican literature.

Goals: One of the aims of this level is to strengthen students’ skills and work on their weaknesses, specially those related to past tenses. Students are expected to make more complex and accurate written and oral productions. They can express expectations towards the future and unreal situations. They learn to give commands and make requests. Their ability to retell and describe becomes accurate and fluid.

Students deepen their skills on grammar and vocabulary to participate in communicative situations which prove to be more complex than daily events.

Intermediate II

Students who start level Intermediate II at BSL, has enough linguistic elements so as to retell either present or past situations, as well as to express expectations towards the future, make requests and give commands. They are able to participate in complex conversations, though occasionally they may have certain difficulties in comprehension.

Goals: This level focuses on Subjunctive. This mode will enable students to express ideas, opinions, expectations and unreal events. Students start to incorporate transference of subjects, express conditions, probabilities and doubts. They comprehend the several subtleties of Subjunctive as compared with Indicative.

Students that finish this level know Spanish Grammar thoroughly. They can accurately express complex ideas either by writing or speaking. Their reading and oral comprehension is good enough to participate in fluid conversations even when they are amongst more than two people.
